This strange-looking creature is an extremely rare caecilian called Atretochoana discovered recently in Brazil. It is known from only two preserved specimens. Caecilians are limbless wormlike amphibians with poorly developed eyes. Apart from the lack of eyeballs Atretochoana also has no lungs and breathes through skin.
