Living in a Cage
The city of Hong Kong is said to be one of the world's richest cities. It is a city with more Louis Vuitton shops than Paris. But its wealth also has a darker side. The property boom in the city keeps escalating, forcing tens of thousands to reside in the most deplorable of living conditions.
This series of photos taken by British photographer Brian Cassey show the other live, with some forced to share rooms and sleep in cages measuring just 6 feet by 2.5 feet (1.8 meters by 0.7 meters). And if you think that's bad, the source also reports that these cages are being charged around US $130-$200 a month by unscrupulous landlords.
