This story took place in the summer of 2011. Austrian man Niko Alm has been granted the right to wear a pasta strainer in his driving licence picture. The atheist, who belongs to the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, sent off his driving licence application form along with some photos of himself sporting a colander headpiece. Three years later Niko Alm has been granted the right to wear a pasta strainer while headgear was allowed in official pictures for ‘confessional’ reasons.
