The fortress was situated on seven terraces, each of which was attached to the side of the mountain, and each had its own walls with gates. The gate of the second ring of walls were shifted to the south, the third - to the north, and so to the very top, so the causeway was zigzagged. Upstairs, on the rock platform was flat with a parapet of stone: this nest defenders could watch the gate, lying 700 feet below.
